Sensex, Nifty rebound in early trade as crude oil cools, fed fears ease
Mumbai: Market benchmark indices, the Sensex and the Nifty, rebounded in early trade on Monday, October 5, 2026, after a decline in crude oil prices and easing concerns over further Federal Reserve tightening at its October meeting.
The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 413 points to 72,315 in early trade, while the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 131.55 points to 22,554.20.
The momentum strengthened later in the session, with the BSE benchmark surging 705.70 points to 72,594.57 and the Nifty jumping 187.30 points to 22,605.10.
The recovery came on the back of softer crude prices, which eased pressure on import costs, and receding worries that the US Federal Reserve would push for further tightening, lifting investor sentiment across sectors.
