Govt cuts export duty on petrol to nil, reduces levy on diesel and ATF

New Delhi: The government has reduced export duties on key retail fuels in its latest fortnightly review aimed at ensuring domestic availability.

In the review announced on Friday, the export duty on petrol was cut to nil. The levy on diesel was reduced to ₹24 per litre, while the duty on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) was lowered to ₹19.5 per litre.

Officials said the changes were made as part of the regular fortnightly assessment to monitor fuel supplies and pricing.

There is no change in excise duty rates for petrol and diesel meant for domestic consumption.
