India’s forex reserves jump $14.14 billion to record $707 billion

Mumbai: India’s foreign exchange reserves saw one of their biggest weekly gains, rising $14.136 billion to reach $707.002 billion in the week ended August 7, the Reserve Bank of India said on Friday.

The sharp increase follows a $10.512 billion jump in the previous reporting week ended July 31, when the overall kitty stood at $692.866 billion.

The back-to-back additions have pushed the country’s forex reserves to a new high, providing a stronger buffer amid global market volatility.
