Tourism Ministry, Google India sign MoU to boost tech-driven travel ecosystem

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Tourism and Google India signed a Memorandum of Understanding Tuesday to leverage technology for tourism growth and social impact.

The MoU, signed on June 30, 2026, is designed as a collaborative and knowledge-sharing framework to help India prepare for tourism through integrated technology and joint initiatives, Google said in a communique.

The strategic partnership aims to support the Ministry in creating a seamless and enriching travel ecosystem that drives both economic benefits and social impact across Indian destinations.

Officials said the collaboration will focus on using digital tools to improve traveler experiences, promote lesser-known destinations, and provide data and insights to stakeholders in the tourism sector.

The move comes as India looks to position itself as a global tourism hub, with an emphasis on sustainable and inclusive growth.
