The Magic Faraway Tree’ movie review: Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy bring Enid Blyton classic to life

A charming adaptation of Enid Blyton’s ‘Faraway Tree’ stories with an excellent cast and delightful production design, ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ offers a chance to slide down the Slippery Slip and revisit the weird and wonderful lands atop the tree.

As children, we devoured Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree stories and dreamt of visiting the different lands that appeared at the top of the Faraway Tree in the middle of the Enchanted Wood.

We wholeheartedly believed in Moonface’s round room with curved furniture, and the Slippery Slip, Mr Watzisname, who found out his name in the Land of Secrets and promptly forgot it, and dear Saucepan Man who caused a great deal of confusion.

Starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, the film brings the enchanting adaptation to life, according to a review published September 4.
