Space tech funding in India hits record, Bengaluru tops with 57% share

Bengaluru: India’s space technology sector is seeing a funding surge, with Bengaluru emerging as the clear ecosystem leader, according to a new report by market research firm Tracxn.

The report said space tech funding in India reached a record $200 million in 2025. As of July 2026, the sector has raised approximately $871 million in total.

Bengaluru alone accounted for $495 million raised across 106 rounds, making up 57% of total sector funding. The top 10 most-funded companies account for over 60% of the total funding. Leading the list is Skyroot Aerospace, India’s first space tech unicorn, which has raised $150 million.

The Hyderabad-based firm built Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket. Vikram-1 successfully reached low Earth orbit on July 18, 2026.The report highlights growing investor interest in India’s private space sector, driven by launch capabilities, satellite tech and downstream applications.
