Shah Rukh Khan unveils first song ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ from ‘King’ on 61st birthday

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan marked his 61st birthday on Monday (November 2, 2026) with a special gift for fans, unveiling the first song from his upcoming film King.

Titled ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, the romantic track was released at midnight and features Shah Rukh alongside Deepika Padukone, reuniting one of Bollywood’s most loved on-screen pairs for their sixth film together.

The song, which hints at both romance and a tragic twist, brings together an unprecedented musical collaboration. It is composed by Sachin-Jigar, sung by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, with lyrics by Kumaar, choreography by Piyush-Shazia, and an English rap portion written and sung by British pop icon Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran recorded his part earlier this year during his India visit.

The video opens with Shah Rukh in an all-black look, walking on an island with a gun in hand, delivering the dialogue: “Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon, aur nishana meri mashooka, aur woh aashiq hi kya jo dil cheer na de.”

Sharing the song on X, Shah Rukh wrote, “Yeh Daur Ishq ka Naseeb Waalon ko milta hai… Jahan Barood ki Khushboo mein Gulab khilta hai… Of Love and other Battles….”Celebrations began at midnight outside his residence Mannat in Bandra, where fans thronged as the bungalow was illuminated with larger-than-life projections showcasing visuals and dialogues from King including “King Akela Kaafi Hai” and “Darr Nahi, Dehshat Hoon”. A handwritten note from SRK thanking fans for their wishes was also projected.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously directed SRK in Pathaan (2023), King is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Bobby Deol, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Suhana Khan and others.
