Rashmika Mandanna to play MS Subbulakshmi in biopic

Actor Rashmika Mandanna is set to portray legendary Carnatic singer and Bharat Ratna recipient MS Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic.

The film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of ‘Jersey’ and ‘Kingdom’ fame, will be launched on September 16 in Chennai on the singer’s 110th birth anniversary.

Composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music for the biopic. Other details regarding the cast and crew are yet to be announced.
