New Delhi: State-owned iron ore miner NMDC reported a 16% increase in production for April, with output rising to 4.64 million tonnes compared to 4.00 MT in the same month last year.
Sales during the month rose marginally to 3.68 MT from 3.63 MT a year earlier, the company said in a filing to the stock exchange on Saturday.
The production growth signals a strong start to FY27 for the country’s largest iron ore producer, amid steady domestic demand from steel makers.
NMDC operates major mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka and supplies iron ore to key steel plants across India.
