Kareena Kapoor, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s crime-thriller ‘Daayra’ gets release date

Mumbai: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s crime-thriller Daayra to release in theatres on September 18, the makers announced on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film’s shoot was wrapped in December last year. The announcement came with a video featuring BTS footage from the film’s shoot.

Kareena and Prithviraj will both be seen in the role of a cop in the intense crime-drama. The BTS video gives a glimpse of the film’s tone and gritty visuals.

The video ends with the quote: “Some lines are drawn. Some lines are crossed. A choice awaits,” setting up the film’s central conflict.

Daayra marks the first on-screen pairing of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. With Meghna Gulzar at the helm, known for Talvar and Raazi, the film is expected to be a taut thriller centered on moral choices and law enforcement.
