Kannada film Premada Oorali becomes surprise box office hit
Bengaluru: Sandalwood has once again proved that it is one of India’s most unpredictable film industries.
Premada Oorali is the talk of Karnataka, and it does not feature a big star. Barring Rangayana Raghu, the film stars an entirely new team. Yet, its box-office numbers are mind-boggling.
Released on September 25, 2026, the Manoj Kumar-directed film has so far collected Rs 25 crore at the box office. For a film made on a Rs 2 crore budget, this result is unheard of in Kannada in 2026.
The box office storm is not expected to stop anytime soon, with a lifetime collection of Rs 50 crore a strong possibility, according to trade estimates.
