India’s toffee exports surge 166% over 12 years, hit Rs 132 crore in 2025-26

New Delhi: India’s toffee exports have registered a 166% jump over the last 12 years, reaching Rs 132 crore in 2025-26, according to government data released this week. The announcement was made during a press briefing in New Delhi by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.

The figures highlight sustained growth in India’s confectionery export segment, with toffee emerging as a key contributor. The data tracks the period from 2013-14 to 2025-26, marking more than a decade of expansion in overseas demand for Indian-made toffee products.

While the government did not release a country-wise breakup, officials attributed the rise to improved product quality, better packaging standards, and stronger distribution networks in international markets. The growth comes as India pushes to increase processed food exports under its broader trade promotion initiatives.

The confectionery sector has been identified as a focus area for export diversification. The Commerce Ministry said it will continue working with manufacturers to meet global food safety norms and explore new markets.
