Home textile exporters to get subsidy for Germany fair in 2027
Coimbatore: A total of 80 home textile exporters will be supported with government subsidies under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) scheme to participate at Heimtextil 2027 to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from January 12 to 15, 2027.
As the lead council for India’s participation in Heimtextil, the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) facilitates participation of Indian exporters in the international trade fair for over two decades, providing them with a platform to showcase their products to the global market.
Heimtextil is the world’s largest trade fair for home textiles, organized by Messe Frankfurt. Held every year in the second week of January since 1971, it attracts more than 3,000 exhibitors from over 60 countries and is considered a key event for sourcing, design trends and global innovations in home textiles.
The subsidy support comes under the Export Promotion Mission with an outlay of Rs 25,060 crore for FY26-31, which consolidates schemes such as the Interest Equalisation Scheme and Market Access Initiative into an outcome-based mechanism to help exporters access new markets.
More than 70 exporters from Karur, Tamil Nadu’s home textile hub, had participated in the previous edition of the fair, which featured over 364 stalls from India.
