ESA to explore cooperation with ISRO in human spaceflight, lunar and venus missions

Paris: The European Space Agency (ESA) will hold discussions with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on cooperation in human spaceflight and lunar exploration during the International Space Summit that gets underway in Paris on September 9.

A high-level delegation from India is in Paris to take part in the summit. ESA Director-General Josef Aschbacher is expected to lead talks on expanding collaboration, which comes even as ISRO and ESA have already signed a Technical Implementing Plan (TIP) for Ground Tracking Support for ISRO’s Gaganyaan human spaceflight missions.

The proposed areas of cooperation also include lunar missions and Venus missions, signalling growing ties between the two agencies in deep-space and human exploration.
