Coal India’s production increased about 19% to 67.2 million tonnes (MT) on a year-on-year basis in October, indicative of mining activity picking up after being dampened by the monsoon.
The Kolkata-headquartered miner said its supplies to the power sector also increased 19% to 57.1 MT. Overall supplies during the month surged 19% year-over-year to 70.3 MT.
Both supplies to the power sector and overall supplies scaled record highs in a single month, the company said.
