New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Friday approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme for another four years, from 2026-27 to 2030-31, with a total financial outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore.
Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmers receive direct financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year, paid in three instalments.
The government said the scheme, launched in February 2019, has so far transferred more than ₹4.47 lakh crore directly into farmers’ bank accounts through 23 instalments.
According to the Union Agriculture Ministry, in the 23rd instalment alone, over 9.49 crore farmers benefited with more than ₹18,984 crore released.
Officials said the extension aims to continue income support for farmers and strengthen rural livelihoods through direct benefit transfers.
