‘Big and strategic’: Schneider EVP says India growth outpacing other markets

New Delhi: India has become the third-largest market for Schneider Electric across sales, revenue and overall contribution, a senior executive said on Wednesday.

Bin Lu, Executive Vice President of the Power Products Division, told The Hindu at Schneider’s Innovation Summit 2026 in New Delhi that India’s importance now goes beyond size. “It’s becoming so big, so strategic – not only the size, but also the growth,” Lu said.

The summit, held under the theme “Advancing Energy Tech to Power a Digital and Sustainable India”, highlighted the company’s focus on local innovation. Lu said Schneider has invested heavily in India-based R&D to support that growth.“At least a couple of years ago, we were talking about almost 6,000 research and development engineers,” he said. The company continues to expand local teams to develop products and solutions tailored for India’s energy and digital infrastructure needs.

Officials said the Innovation Summit showcased new energy tech aimed at powering India’s digital growth while supporting sustainability goals. India’s rapid infrastructure expansion and renewable energy push are driving demand for Schneider’s power management and automation solutions.
