Tata Sons to focus on AI, semiconductors, aviation and advanced manufacturing

Tata Sons will continue to prioritize artificial intelligence, semiconductors, aviation and advanced manufacturing as key areas for long-term growth, Chairman N. Chandrasekaran said in the company’s FY26 Annual Report.

The holding company of the Tata Group reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and nation-building even as it reported strong financial performance across established businesses in FY26 despite global economic uncertainties and sector-specific challenges.

“All of the Group’s established businesses delivered strong revenue and profit growth during the year,” Chandrasekaran said in the report.

He added that the Group’s performance over the past decade is reflected in robust shareholder returns. The Tata Group delivered total shareholder returns of 287% compared to Nifty 50 market returns of 253% over the period.

The report underlined Tata Sons’ focus on sustainable growth, with AI, chip manufacturing, aviation and advanced manufacturing positioned as strategic pillars for the conglomerate’s next phase of expansion.
