72nd National Film Awards: Article 370 wins best feature film, Mammootty bags best actor
New Delhi: Bollywood film Article 370, based on the events surrounding the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution in 2019, was named Best Feature Film at the 72nd National Film Awards, announced on Saturday.
Starring Yami Gautam, the political drama was recognised for its portrayal of a landmark constitutional development.
Announcing the winners, central jury chairman Jayaraj said Telugu sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD bagged the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
Malayalam superstar Mammootty won the Best Actor award for his performance in the horror thriller Bramayugam. This marks his fourth National Film Award for Best Actor.
The 72nd National Film Awards honoured films released in 2025 across Indian languages, celebrating performances and films across mainstream and regional cinema.
