Anaxee builds 40,000-person network to bridge India’s last-mile gap
Madhya Pradesh: Companies and governments struggled for years to reach rural India. To solve that, Govind Agrawal and Arti Agrawal built Anaxee Digital Runners, a platform that now employs 40,000+ local youth to do on-ground work across the country.
Operating in 540 districts and 11,000+ PIN codes, Digital Runners use a smartphone app to take tasks within 5-10 km of their homes — from address verification and surveys to merchant onboarding and awareness campaigns.
“Digital connectivity was growing, but physical last-mile access was missing,” said Govind, Co-founder and CEO. “We created a trusted local network to fix that.”The model scaled fast by leveraging India’s existing Aadhaar operator network. Every task is tracked with GPS, photos, and AI-based checks before payment is released.
Beyond business, Runners helped with pandemic vaccination drives and now support climate projects. For many, it’s flexible income without leaving home. Nipendra Kumar from UP earned Rs 50,000 in 4 months, while Ankit Kumar funded his UPSC prep through the work.
Anaxee won the National Startup Award 2021. The founders now aim to become the default partner for any organisation that needs trusted last-mile execution in India.
