Alia Bhatt joins ‘Tumbbad 2’, to star alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Mumbai: Actor Alia Bhatt has joined the cast of Tumbbad 2, the makers announced on Tuesday. Directed by Adesh Prasad, the sequel to the 2018 cult horror film will also feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a pivotal role. The film is produced by Sohum Shah.

The original Tumbbad, released in 2018, was praised for its original world-building and atmospheric horror, and has since grown a strong following.

Speaking about coming on board, Alia Bhatt said in a statement:
“Tumbbad has stayed with me ever since I first watched it. Very few films create a world that feels this original and immersive, and even fewer continue to grow in people’s imagination years after they’ve released. That’s what makes this opportunity so exciting.”Details about Bhatt and Siddiqui’s characters have not been revealed yet. Tumbbad 2 marks the return of the franchise 8 years after the first film, which was co-directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi and starred Sohum Shah.
