Multiculture returns to Victoria Public Hall on July 19 with diverse rap lineup

Chennai: A 12-year-old rapper is set to take the stage at the second edition of Multiculture on July 19, bringing a mix of sub-genres to the historic Victoria Public Hall.

Organised by Ofro, founder of Atticulture, the event aims to showcase the diversity of rap in the city. “An amalgamation of sub-genres will come together at the hallowed halls of the puritanical Victoria Public Hall to teach Chennai a thing or two about rap,” according to the announcement.

Among the performers is Aydin Flow, a school-going rapper. Ofro said he met Aydin Flow at a cypher at Anna Nagar Tower Park several months ago.

The lineup also includes Kelithee, 808Krsna, Hippie Writer, Kaadi, Vaasi, Urban Tozha, and Tamizh Aadhavan. According to Ofro, he met these artistes through his Discord community and park meet-ups.

Multiculture returns for its second edition with a focus on bringing together independent and emerging voices from Chennai’s rap scene.
