Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ set for release, makers drop first promo

Chennai: The makers of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2 announced the release date Thursday with a new promo video. The Nelson directorial will hit theatres on October 15 this year, the team said on July 2, 2026.

The promo features brief glimpses from the film, building anticipation for Rajinikanth’s arrival. The superstar is seen in shadows and then walking on a road as the theme song composed by Anirudh Ravichander plays in the background.

The video does not reveal much about the plot and keeps Rajinikanth’s look in the film under wraps.

Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films. The announcement comes amid high expectations from fans for Rajinikanth’s next big-screen appearance.
