Chennai: MINI has strengthened its presence in India’s premium compact SUV segment with the launch of the all-new Countryman C. The model will now be manufactured locally at the BMW Group Plant Chennai, marking a significant milestone for the British-born marque.
The Countryman becomes the first locally produced petrol variant of the model in India. Local assembly is expected to make the SUV more competitively priced while reducing waiting periods for customers.
Positioned as a larger, more practical and technologically advanced evolution of the iconic MINI formula, the new Countryman C focuses on design, digital innovation and everyday usability. MINI says the SUV has been developed for customers seeking a premium urban vehicle that combines distinctive styling with family-friendly practicality.
With the local rollout, MINI aims to tap growing demand for compact luxury SUVs in Indian cities, where buyers want premium branding without compromising on space and tech features.
