Tata Electronics, ASML sign MoU to boost semiconductor manufacturing in India

Gandhinagar: Tata Electronics Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ASML, one of the world’s leading semiconductor equipment manufacturers, to advance India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

Through the partnership, ASML will enable the establishment and ramp-up of Tata Electronics’ upcoming 300 mm (12 inch) semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat.

The MoU covers collaboration on equipment, technology, and knowledge sharing to support the fab’s development and operations. Dholera is one of the key sites under India’s semiconductor mission aimed at building domestic chip manufacturing capacity.

The Tata Electronics fab is among the first commercial 12-inch fabs planned in India. ASML’s lithography systems are critical for advanced chip production, and the tie-up signals progress in securing technology partnerships needed for India’s chip ambitions.
