New Delhi: India has emerged as the largest market globally for KitKat, the chocolate-coated wafer bar from Swiss food and confectionery major Nestlé, the company said.
The growth has been driven by strong consumer penetration, product innovation, and aggressive marketing investments, according to Nestlé.
India had been the second-largest market for the brand over the last two to three years. It has now overtaken other countries to claim the top spot, underscoring India’s growing importance for the iconic chocolate wafer brand sold in over 85 countries.
Nestlé did not disclose sales figures but said the shift reflects rising demand and expanding reach in tier-2 and tier-3 markets, alongside new flavor launches and digital campaigns aimed at younger consumers.
The milestone comes as global FMCG majors increasingly look to India for volume growth amid slowing demand in mature markets.
