‘Karuppu’ trailer out: Suriya returns as divine avenger in RJ Balaji’s action drama

Chennai: The makers unveiled the trailer of Karuppu on Sunday, May 10. The Tamil masala actioner stars Suriya and is directed by RJ Balaji. The film is set to release in theatres on May 14.

Trisha plays the female lead. The trailer opens with RJ Balaji as Baby Kannan, a feared lawyer who runs a kangaroo court with a group of lawyers. “This is my court, my domain. Even if God shows up, he can’t change a thing,” Kannan tells his rival lawyer, played by Trisha.

As injustice grows, Kannan’s taunt turns real. Suriya appears as Karuppu, a personification of Lord Karuppanna Saamy. The trailer shows Karuppu delivering retribution for the victims of Kannan’s atrocities, setting up a fiery action face-off.

Billed as a mass entertainer, Karuppu marks Suriya’s return to a larger-than-life action role and is among the most awaited Tamil releases this month.
