Food and beverage manufacturer PepsiCo on Thursday opened its first foods factory in the Northeast.
The unit, spread across 44.2 acres in Nalbari district’s Danguapara, about 65 km northwest of Guwahati, is PepsiCo’s fifth foods manufacturing plant in India.
The plant was inaugurated on September 10.The multinational company said its foods manufacturing plant will cover 80,000 smallholder farmers through agri-entrepreneurs.
With the new Assam unit, PepsiCo is eyeing India as one of its top 10 global anchor markets.
