Composer Hesham Abdul Wahab on working 50 hours for ‘Epic’

Hyderabad: On a warm morning at Ramanaidu Studios, composer Hesham Abdul Wahab had been at work for 50 hours, catching sleep in one or two-hour breaks. He was finalising the background score for Aditya Haasan’s Telugu film Epic – First Semester, starring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, releasing September 11.

Asked if better planning from film teams could ease the last-minute rush for post-production and background music, Hesham laughed.”I’ve composed for 25 films in the last 10 years; it has always been a war zone prior to the release date,” he said.

The composer was speaking ahead of the film’s release, opening up on his choice of singers and why ‘Manasa Vacha’ might be a surprise.

Hesham, known for his work in Epic, Once More and several other projects, has become one of the most sought-after composers in Telugu cinema.

The interview comes as he wraps work on Epic – First Semester, set for release tomorrow.
