4-year-old’s morning waves bring North Carolina neighborhood together
Concord, North Carolina: A 4-year-old boy named Roman has turned his neighborhood into a community — just by waving hello.
After his parents’ divorce left him feeling lonely, Roman started greeting everyone who passed his house — from delivery drivers to neighbors his mom didn’t know.
Retired neighbor Wade Folger was the first to stop by. Soon others followed, and Roman began inviting his senior neighbors to his sports games, school events, and even his birthday.“Look at what this little kid has built,” one neighbor said.
What started as one child’s waves helped neighbors meet each other for the first time, curing Roman’s loneliness and stitching the block together.
