22-year-old is Maharashtra’s ‘Golden Boy’ and a CA at first attempt
Twenty-two-year-old Om Kakad has cleared all levels of the Chartered Accountancy course in his first attempt while building a decorated Soft Tennis career.
Growing up in a farming family in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Om took up Soft Tennis in Class 9 and won his first national gold medal the same year. He went on to win three golds at the Maharashtra State Olympic Games, earning the tag of Maharashtra’s ‘Golden Boy’, and two bronze medals at the 21st Senior National Championship in Punjab.
Despite scoring 95.2% in Class 10 and 88% in Class 12 with Science, he chose CA for long-term stability.
For five years he juggled both worlds – training before sunrise, articleship during the day, and classes and 14-hour study sessions late into the night.”People think you have to choose between passion and profession, but I always believed I could do both,” Om said.
