16-Year-old Chennai student cuts through election noise with candidate info website
Chennai: As more than 4,000 candidates across Tamil Nadu’s 234 constituencies battled for attention on walls, vehicles and crackling loudspeakers ahead of polling, a Grade 12 student in Mylapore took a different approach.
From a quiet home off Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, 16-year-old Kapil Bhaskar built a website. Bhaskar, who loves maths, coding, and debating politics with family and friends, created Nee Yosi.
The site strips official Election Commission affidavits down to basics: a candidate’s criminal cases, declared assets and educational background.
Nee Yosi presents the information in plain Tamil and English. It works in seconds, for free, on any phone.
