Union Health Ministry to roll out e-Sushrut@Clinic for small clinics

The Union Health Ministry is set to launch e-Sushrut@Clinic, a lightweight, cloud-based Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) aimed at small outpatient clinics facing manual processes and costly digital tools.

Developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), the government-backed platform covers patient registration, billing, prescriptions, pharmacy, nursing, and reporting. It’s ABDM-enabled with speech-to-text and clinical decision support, and needs only a laptop or mobile for onboarding via HFR and HPR.

A lighter version of the e-Sushrut HMIS used in 17 AIIMS and 4,000+ facilities, it’s built specifically for small and medium providers. Over 800 clinics are already onboarded, generating 680+ health records.

The National Health Authority and C-DAC signed the MoU on August 14, 2025. Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava said it will “empower tens of thousands of doctors and facility managers nationwide” by improving efficiency, data security, and patient satisfaction.
