Telangana to vaccinate 40.97 lakh children in two-day pulse polio drive

Hyderabad: The Telangana health department will administer Pulse Polio vaccine drops to around 40.97 lakh children below the age of five across the State on Saturday (June 27, 2026) and June 28, as part of the nationwide immunisation programme.

Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha reviewed arrangements for the campaign on June 26 and directed officials to ensure no eligible child is left out.

The Minister said the drive should cover every child through fixed booths, mobile teams, and door-to-door surveys. He stressed special focus on children of migrant workers and those living at construction sites, urban slums, and tribal areas.

The State-wide drive is part of India’s ongoing effort to sustain its polio-free status.
