Rupee rises 20 paise to 95.30 against U.S. dollar in early trade
Mumbai: The rupee extended its gains on Friday, rising 20 paise to 95.30 against the U.S. dollar in early trade.
Forex traders said the local unit got support from foreign capital inflows and a fall in global crude oil prices.
However, a stronger dollar limited sharper gains. The rupee has maintained an upward trajectory this week, with lower oil prices easing pressure on India’s import bill and inflows adding to sentiment.
Markets will now watch the movement of the U.S. dollar and crude prices for further cues through the day.
