Rupee rises 10 paise to 96.65 on likely RBI intervention
The rupee edged up 10 paise to 96.65 against the US dollar in early trade Thursday. At the interbank market, it opened at 96.71 against previous close of 96.75.
Traders said the RBI likely sold dollars near open as the currency trades near its all-time low of 96.96 hit in May.
Pressure remains from DXY at multi-month highs near 102.25, Brent crude near $102 per barrel, foreign fund outflows and a $50 billion fall in forex reserves from September high of $786 billion.
