The Centre is set to announce the second phase of its flagship PM-KUSUM scheme shortly, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said.”The process is on for PM-KUSUM 2.0, that is, Phase-II, and I am quite confident very shortly the honourable Prime Minister [will make the announcement],” Joshi told reporters on the sidelines of the curtain raiser for the seventh Agrivoltaics World Conference 2026.
Launched in 2019, PM-KUSUM seeks to expand the use of solar energy in agriculture, with focus on supporting small and marginal farmers, FPOs, cooperatives and panchayats.
The second phase is expected to include a dedicated component for agrivoltaics, which allows simultaneous use of land for agriculture and solar power generation.
