‘Masters in Madras’: Apparao galleries brings modern Indian art icons to Chennai

Chennai: A rare chance to see works by India’s modern masters together is now on view at Apparao Galleries with its new showcase, Masters in Madras.

The exhibition, presented as part of the gallery’s ongoing Contemporary Now series, features paintings by A. Ramachandran, Anju Dodiya, Arpita Singh, Anjolie Ela Menon, FN Souza, Ganesh Pyne, Himmat Shah, KG Subramanyan, MF Husain, Nicholas Roerich, Ravinder Reddy, SH Raza, Sakti Burman and more.

These artists are considered the modern masters who shaped and inspired a generation of Indian art. Seeing their work together in one space is an uncommon opportunity for art lovers and collectors in the city.
