Laurus Labs Q1 net profit more than doubles to ₹362 Cr on strong CDMO growth

Hyderabad: Generic drugmaker Laurus Labs reported a more than two-fold jump in consolidated net profit for the June quarter, backed by strong growth in its CDMO business.

The company’s net profit rose YoY to ₹361.99 crore for Q1 FY27, compared to the same period last year. Revenue from operations increased 29% to ₹2,026.31 crore. The growth was led by the CDMO segment, which surged 67% to ₹870 crore.

Within CDMO, the small molecules business grew 69% to ₹835 crore. Laurus Labs said this was driven by higher supplies of late-stage clinical and commercial Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).

The Bio segment, or large molecules, also posted growth. Revenue was up 21% to ₹35 crore during the quarter.

The strong CDMO performance helped offset pressure in other segments and pushed overall revenue and profit higher for the Hyderabad-based generics maker.
