Indian art and design take center stage in London’s cultural calendar

London: Indian pride has been on full display in London’s arts and luxury scene over the past three years, with momentum continuing to build across fashion, craft, and fine art.

Last month at London Craft Week, Friday Sari Project and Moi x PDKF presented Indian craft and design as part of the official programming. The same week, Indian artist Ian Malhotra’s meticulous etchings were on view at Somerset House during the London Original Print Fair.

Now, as London Gallery Weekend gets underway, Indian gallerists and artists are featured prominently in the city-wide gallery walk expected to draw thousands of collectors, curators, and institutions.

The showcase continues next week when Serendipity Arts Festival brings film, music, and puppetry from India to South Kensington.

The run of events underscores the growing presence of Indian creativity in London’s major cultural programming, from heritage craft to contemporary art.
