IIT Delhi Grad’s startup empowers farmers; Boosts income by 35%
Varun Khurana, an IIT Delhi computer science graduate, has made a significant impact in the agricultural sector with his startup, Otipy. Founded in May 2020, Otipy connects small farmers directly with consumers, eliminating middlemen and ensuring fair prices.
The platform has already benefited over 20,000 small farmers, who earn 35% more income by selling their fresh produce through Otipy. The startup has also tied up with 100 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and delivers fresh produce to consumers within 12 hours, reducing wastage.
Khurana’s vision is to revolutionize the agricultural supply chain, making it more efficient and profitable for farmers. Otipy’s success is a testament to the potential of agritech in transforming rural India.
