‘Heart Of The Beast’ trailer out: Brad Pitt and combat dog Odin battle Alaskan Wilderness
Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for Heart of the Beast on June 11, 2026. The survival thriller stars Brad Pitt as James Belmont, a retired Army Special Forces officer, alongside his combat dog Odin.
The trailer opens with Belmont and Odin living off-grid in Alaska. Their small plane crashes into the Alaskan wilderness after Belmont passes out in the cockpit. Stranded with no rescue in sight, the pair must survive extreme cold, treacherous terrain and predators including wolves and bears.
Odin, a retired German Shepherd who lost teeth and a leg in battle, drags Belmont from the wreckage. The film centers on their bond as they fight their way back to civilisation. “I’m going to get you home. We just have to do this the hard way,” Belmont tells Odin in the trailer.
Director David Ayer, who last worked with Pitt on 2014’s Fury, calls the film a “love story” between man and dog. Pitt also produces via Plan B. J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe co-star, with Simmons warning Belmont about the dangers of Alaska.
Heart of the Beast hits US theatres on September 25, 2026. Producer Richard Raymond confirmed Odin survives: “Everybody loves a dog… The dog does not die”.
