Hamdam brings together Abdul Wahab, Hanan Shaah in festive tribute to friendship
A newly released music video, Hamdam, has brought together some of the industry’s leading names for a Bakrid special celebrating human connection.
The peppy track features composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, singer Hanan Shaah, lyricist-singer Shafi Kollam, rapper Haris Saleem, and filmmaker Zakariya. Released for Bakrid, the song leans into a festive soundscape built around themes of warmth and gratitude in relationships.
The video follows two friends — a director and a musician, played by Hanan and Hesham respectively — who receive news of the death of Kunjoottettan, their hamdam, or confidant. He was their biggest cheerleader as they pursued their dreams.
The story traces how Kunjoottettan stood by them through every attempt, encouraging their path to success. The duo remembers him with love and gratitude, making the track a tribute to those who quietly back others’ ambitions.
