Govt approves 22 more textile firms under PLI Scheme, eyes ₹2,339 cr investment
The Union government has cleared 22 more companies under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for textiles.
The new applicants are expected to bring in ₹2,339.14 crore of investment. An official press release said they will generate a projected turnover of ₹15,561.34 crore in notified products and create 36,217 jobs across the textile value chain.
With this round, 96 companies have now been selected under the third round of the PLI scheme. Collectively, these firms have committed ₹12,822.67 crore in investment. Their projected turnover stands at ₹58,294.18 crore.
The approvals aim to boost domestic manufacturing, cut import dependence, and formalise employment in textiles — one of India’s largest job creators.
