Google’s screenless Fitbit Air to launch in India on Oct 2 at Rs 13,999

Bengaluru: Google is bringing its first screenless fitness tracker to India. The Fitbit Air will be available from October 2 for Rs 13,999, the company announced. It will be sold via the Google Store, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales and other retail partners.

Touted as Google’s smallest and lightest tracker yet, the device ditches a display for a distraction-free “pebble” design that clips into interchangeable bands. All health data is viewed inside the Google Health app.

The tracker offers 24/7 heart rate monitoring, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, irregular heart rhythm (Afib) notifications, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, detailed sleep stages and automatic activity detection, the company said.

It promises up to seven days of battery life, with five minutes of fast charging providing a full day of use.

The Fitbit Air is integrated with Google Health Coach, which turns data into personalized guidance. Users can auto-log workouts, follow guided sessions, or photograph gym equipment and workout routines to log activity.

It comes in four colours — Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog — with three band styles: Performance Loop, Active Band and Elevated Modern Band. Every purchase includes a three-month trial of Google Health Premium.

In the US, the device is priced at $99, but in India it is positioned as a premium screenless alternative to Whoop and similar trackers.
