‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ trailer: Godzilla returns larger than ever as Ghidorah looms
The first full trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero is here — and it teases Godzilla’s most terrifying battle yet.
Released today, the trailer offers the fullest look at Takashi Yamazaki’s sequel to the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. Set in 1949, two years after the events of the first film, the story picks up as post-war Japan attempts to rebuild — only to face another catastrophic threat.
The footage confirms what fans suspected: Godzilla survived and regenerated after his apparent destruction in Godzilla Minus One. He returns larger, more scarred and more ferocious than before.
The bigger reveal is the new kaiju threat. While Toho has not officially named it, the trailer shows dark storm clouds, golden lightning, and a massive three-headed silhouette — sparking immediate speculation that King Ghidorah, Godzilla’s most formidable extraterrestrial adversary, is coming.
Yamazaki, who won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for Minus One, returns to write, direct and supervise VFX for the sequel.
