Geomysore’s Jonnagiri Mine to Put 400 Kg Gold Into Market by 2026-27

Kurnool: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, inaugurated the Jonnagiri gold mine in Kurnool district, marking the launch of India’s largest private gold mine and currently its only operating one.

Spread across 597.82 hectares in Tuggali mandal, the mining lease covers the villages of Jonnagiri, Erragudi and Pagadirai. The mine is expected to produce about 400 kg of gold in 2026-27 and scale up to nearly one tonne annually.

Developer Geomysore Services (India) said the project is “the first private sector gold mine with an integrated processing facility” to come up in the country in 70 years.

The opening of Jonnagiri puts Kurnool on India’s gold map and signals a fresh push for private participation in domestic gold mining.
