Expressive abhinaya and rhythmic precision mark L. Shruthi’s Kuchipudi recital

New Delhi: Delhi-based Kuchipudi dancer L. Shruthi delivered a solo performance that highlighted both expressive abhinaya and rhythmic precision at the Brahma Gana Sabha’s Aadi Dance Festival 2026.

A senior disciple of Gurus Seetha Nagajothy and P. Nagajothy, Shruthi trained in the bani of legendary guru Vempati Chinna Satyam, which her gurus carry forward.

She opened her recital with ‘Vani ki vandhanam’, an invocatory piece written and choreographed by Seetha Nagajothy and set to music by K.G. Rupa. Set in Ragamalika and Adi tala, the composition paid tribute to Goddess Saraswati as the embodiment of knowledge and the arts. Shruthi’s measured execution matched the devotional mood of the piece, setting the tone for the evening.

The recital was presented as part of Brahma Gana Sabha’s annual Aadi dance festival.
