Digital dance festival ‘Aaha!’ to launch June 1, spotlighting Bharatanatyam
Singapore: A new digital festival aimed at expanding Bharatanatyam’s global reach will go live on June 1. Aaha!, conceived by Aravinth Kumarasamy, artistic director of Singapore-based Apsaras Dance Company, will be hosted on AVAI.
video in collaboration with The Hindu.The festival is designed as a global meeting point for dancers, choreographers, musicians, scholars and rasikas. It will feature specially commissioned solo, duet and ensemble works, along with artist conversations and behind-the-scenes insights.
Kumarasamy said the goal is to transform Bharatanatyam’s presence on digital platforms while keeping the classical form’s depth intact. The programming will bring together established and emerging artists to showcase new work created for the online stage.
