‘Continuum’ exhibition turns Gurugram home into gallery; Blending art with daily life
Gurugram: Moving away from the pristine white walls and silence of traditional galleries, a new art space in DLF Phase I is placing works inside a lived-in setting to spark conversations on light, colour, instinct, and emotion.
The Art Hub, a refurbished 5,000 sq ft house on a green avenue in DLF Phase I, was formally launched earlier this week with Continuum, an exhibition featuring 100 works by 35 master and contemporary artists. The pieces are displayed across rooms, hallways, staircases, terraces, and lawns, dissolving boundaries between art and everyday life.
With melodic jazz playing in the background, the opening saw art lovers and walk-in guests moving through the house as curator Gauri Minocha led them through what she described as a fluid spatial narrative.
By placing art within a home environment rather than a gallery, Continuum invites viewers to experience works as part of daily living, aiming for more intimate and meaningful engagement with the art.
